MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils defeated William Paterson, 2-1, in the season opener for both teams on Thursday evening in non-conference action.
With the win, the Devils improved to 1-0.

Lanie Andrews to give the Devils a 1-0 lead just 2:14 into the game. The Pioneers came right back to tie the game at 1-1 at the 10:12 mark but the game stayed tied until the middle of the second half. With 19:51 left in the game, FDU was awarded a penalty corner that senior midfielder
Megan Springmeyer and junior forward
Corey VanOrden worked to perfection as the pair executed a give-and-go that Springmeyer eventually converted to give the Devils the game-winner.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Tess Loughran picked up the win, making seven saves.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, September 3, 2011, against Immaculata at the Stevenson Tournament beginning at 10 am.
