PURCHASE, NY - Junior midfielder Breana Kilpatrick scored six goals to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 19-10 win over Manhattanville in MAC action on Wednesday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 8-4 (7-2 MAC) while the Valiants dropped to 5-5 (4-4 MAC).
FDU got off to the start they were looking for, scoring four of the first five goals to grab a 4-1 lead with 20:31 left in the first half. After the Valiants cut it to 5-3, the Devils reeled off six of the next seven goals to take an 11-4 advantage with 4:03 to go in the half. Kilpatrick scored three goals in the run while senior attack Sara Franckowiak added two goals. Each team scored a goal in the final 1:31 to make the score 12-5 in favor of FDU heading into the break.
The Devils started the second half almost as strong as they did in the first half, ripping off five of the first seven goals to take a 17-7 lead with 9:43 remaining. The Valiants scored three of the final five goals but the Devils had already sealed the win by that point.
Franckowiak finished with four goals and three assists while senior midfielder Erika Depelteau tallied four goals. Senior midfielder Lindsey Parent notched three goals and two assists. Freshman goalkeeper Ashley Smith earned the win, making nine saves.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at home against Wilkes beginning at 1 pm.
