Erika Depelteau scored six goals while junior midfielder
Breana Kilpatrick added three goals and three assists to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 14-3 season-opening win over Arcadia in Middle Atlantic Conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
With the win, the Devils improved to 1-0 (1-0 MAC) while the Knights dropped to 1-1 (0-1 MAC).
Kilpatrick scored the first two goals of the game before assisting on a goal by senior midfielder
Sara Franckowiak. Depelteau then scored the next three goals to give FDU a 6-0 lead with 14:15 to go in the half. Kilpatrick scored the last goal of the half for the Devils as FDU took a 7-0 advantage heading into intermission.
FDU then scored the first four goals, two by Depelteau, to start the second half with an 11-0 lead before Arcadia finally got on the board with 9:22 left in the game. Depelteau and senior midfielder
Lindsey Parent score two in a row for the Devils to make it 13-1 but the Knights then scored two to make it 13-3. Parent finished the scoring when she found the back of the net with 0:46 to play.
Freshman goalkeeper
Ashley Smith won her first collegiate start, making two saves. Parent finished with two goals and an assist while Franckowiak added one goal and two assists.
The Devils return to action on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at home against Montclair State beginning at 4 pm.
