DALLAS, PA - The College at Florham Devils jumped out to a 9-2 halftime lead and never looked back, knocking off Misericordia by a score of 17-4 in Middle Atlantic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Devils improved to 2-1 (2-0 MAC) while the Cougars dropped to 1-2 (0-1 MAC).
With the game tied 1-1, FDU ripped off eight of the next nine goals to grab a 9-2 advantage at halftime. Junior attack
Sara Slicklen scored three goals in the run while senior midfielder
Lindsey Parent added two goals.
It was more of the same in the second half, as once again the teams split a pair of goals to open the stanza but the Devils then ran off seven of the next eight to earn the 17-4 win.
Slicklen and Parent each finished with four goals while senior attack
Sara Franckowiak tallied three goals and four assists. Senior midfielder
Erika Depelteau also notched three goals. Freshman goalkeeper
Ashley Smith made three saves to pick up the win.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at home against Muhlenberg beginning at 4 pm.
