MADISON, NJ - Down 36-25 at the half, the College at Florham Devils scored only 14 points in the second half to fall to Manhattanville by a score of 76-39 in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 8-13 (4-7 Freedom) while the Valiants improved to 14-8 (7-4 Freedom).  The Devils are officially eliminated from any postseason play.
The Valiants jumped out to a 24-8 lead with 7:08 left in the first half before the Devils went on a 10-2 run to cut it to 26-18 with 5:40 to go.  Manhattanville got that 16-point lead right back though, responding with a 10-2 run of their own to grab a 36-20 edge with 2:09 left.  FDU made one last spurt at the end of the half, to cut it to 36-25 heading into intermission.
Manhattanville put the pedal down right from the start of the second half, going on a 13-0 run to take a 49-25 lead.  It was all over from there as FDU had only four points through the first 12 minutes of the stanza.
Freshman guard 
Brianna Nicholls led FDU with 18 points and seven rebounds while junior forward 
Matil Mangual added 10 points.  The Devils once again struggled with turnovers, as they committed 35 for the game.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Misericordia beginning at 1 pm.
