MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils got a balanced scoring attack, six different players scored at least nine points, to snap an eight-game losing streak with a 90-70 win over Delaware Valley in Freedom Conference action on Thursday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 4-16 (2-6 Freedom) while the Aggies dropped to 12-8 (6-3 Freedom).
The game went back-and-forth for the first ten minutes as they two teams were tied at 14-14 with 10:16 left in the first half. FDU held a slim three-point margin, 23-20, after a layup from sophomore forward
Derek Hall with 5:21 to go but the Aggies came back to take a 24-23 lead just a minute later. The Devils regained the lead, 28-24, and after three free throws by the Aggies made it 28-27, FDU closed the half on a 5-1 run to take a 33-28 lead into the locker room.
FDU came out scorching to begin the second half, exploding for a 29-14 run to take a 62-42 lead with 10:03 left in the game. Sophomore guard
Alex Rosario netted 10 points in the spurt. The Aggies had one last run in them though, trimming the FDU lead to 78-66 with 3:13 to go but the Devils dug in and put the game away with a 12-2 run over the next two minutes to cruise to the 90-70 win.
Junior guard
Adam Katz finished with a game-high 25 points while Rosario tallied 17 points. Senior center
Ricky Fetske had 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench, freshman forward
Will Green notched 10 points and six boards, and Hall and junior guard
Joe Missale each added nine points.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at King's beginning at 3 pm.
