Fetske, Ciprut Shine As Devils Beat DeSales, 74-70

MADISON, NJ - On Senior Day, senior center Ricky Fetske finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds while senior forward Danny Ciprut talled 20 points and six boards as the College at Florham Devils beat DeSales, 74-70, in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Devils improved to 6-19 (4-10 Freedom) while the Bulldogs dropped to 18-7 (9-5 Freedom).

FDU got off to a greath start, opening up a 16-8 lead with 13:34 left in the first half thanks to six points from Fetske but DeSales came back to take a two-point lead, 18-16, with 8:50 to go.  The two teams went back-and-forth from that point on with each team holding a hold three times before the score was tied at 32-32 with 1:57 to play.  Neither team scored again until the Bulldogs hit a pair of free throws with 0:06 left to grab a 34-32 lead at halftime.

The two teams continued to play even through the first nine minutes of the second half and the game was tied at 48-48 with 11:37 remaining.  FDU then went on a 14-4 run over the next four minutes to grab a 62-52 lead with 7:14 to go thanks to six points from junior guard Adam Katz.  DeSales wouldn't go away though, as they responded with a 11-1 run to tie the game at 63-63 with 4:56 to go.  With FDU holding a one-point lead, 68-67, and 2:04 to go, Ciprut knocked in a layup to put FDU up 70-67 with 1:09 left.  The Bulldogs hit one free throw to make it 70-68 but freshman guard Andrew Stress sank two free throws to make it 72-68 in favor of FDU with 0:23 left.  DeSales got a layup to draw to 72-70 but Katz then calmly drilled a pair from the line with 0:04 to go to seal the win.

Katz tallied 17 points and eight assists which puts him at 996 points for his career while sophomore guard Alex Rosario added seven points off the bench.
