ST. DAVIDS, PA - The College at Florham Devils dropped their sixth straight game, a 55-38 decision to Eastern in Freedom Conference action on Tuesday evening.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 8-15 (4-9 Freedom) while the Eagles improved to 15-9 (7-6 Freedom).
In an extremely low scoring first half, neither team had more than a four-point lead until the Eagles turned a 14-14 game with 6:19 left into a 21-14 halftime advantage.
After the Devils cut it to five, 26-21, with 15:32 left, the Eagles went on a quick 6-1 run to take a 32-22 lead with 11:53 to go. FDU trimmed their deficit to 34-27 with 9:48 remaining but Eastern exploded for a game-ending 21-11 run to earn the 55-38 victory.
Turnovers, as they have been for the entire second half of the season, was again a factor as FDU coughed it up 30 times in the game. Senior forward
Shealyn Taggart led the Devils with 14 points and nine rebounds while junior guard
Shaleah Alston added eight points and eight boards.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, February 19, at home for Senior Day against DeSales beginning at 1 pm.
