Box Score NEW YORK, NY - In a tale of two halves, the Hunter Hawks were down by eight points, 42-34, at halftime before outscoring the College at Florham Devils by a 13 point margin, 31-18, in the second on their way to a 65-60 victory in non-conference action on Monday evening.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 1-5 on the season.
The action went back-and-forth for the first nine minutes of the game as the score was tied at 21-21 with 11:17 left in the first half. That's when the Devils went on a 19-7 run to grab a 40-28 lead with 2:55 remaining thanks to eight points from junior forward
Derek Hall. FDU held a 42-31 edge with 0:29 to play but Hunter hit one of the biggest shots of the game, a three-pointer with 0:04 to go, to get their deficit into single digits, 42-34, and giving them the momentum heading into halftime.
FDU got their lead back up to 11, 47-36, with 14:42 left in the game but Hunter took over after that, reeling off a 20-3 run over the next six minutes to grab a 56-50 lead with 8:10 to go. The Devils came back though, and grabbed a 60-58 lead with 2:57 remaining after a layup from Hall but that was the last points the Devils would score as Hunter stepped up their defense and hit their free throws down the stretch to escape with the 65-60 win.
After shooting 51.6% in the first half, FDU connected on just 4-of-28 shots (14.3%) in the second half allowing Hunter to get back in the game. Sophomore forward
Will Green led the Devils with 15 points and 12 rebounds while Hall added 14 points. Sophomore forward

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at cross-town rival Drew beginning at 8 pm.
