Devils Downed By Lebanon Valley, 71-57

ANNVILLE, PA - The College at Florham Devils were knocked off by Lebanon Valley, 71-57, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

With the loss, the Devils dropped to 3-14 while the Dutchmen improved to 12-6.

Lebanon Valley got off to a torrid start, opening up a 26-9 lead with 8:51 left in the first half.  The Devils didn't quit though, responding with a 16-0 run to close the gap to 26-25 with 1:33 to go thanks to at least two points from five different players.  The two squads traded two free throws down the stretch to make the score 28-27 in favor of the Dutchmen at halftime.

The Dutchmen started the second half almost as hot as the began the first, going on a 15-4 run to take a 43-31 lead with 5:30 gone by.  The Devils came back again though, cutting their deficit to four (43-39) with 10:55 remaining.  Leb Val kicked it into another gear from that point on, ripping off a 25-13 run to grab a 68-52 advantage with 3:49 to play.  That was all they would need as they earned the 71-57 win a Freedom/Commonwealth match-up.

Junior guard Adam Katz led the Devils with 11 points while senior center Ricky Fetske added 10 points and seven rebounds.  Freshman forward Matt Argudo notched 10 points, his career-high, off the bench.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Wilkes beginning at 3 pm.
