Shaleah Alston finished with 20 points and six boards to help the College at Florham Devils snap their eight-game losing streak with a 61-38 win over Eastern in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 7-9 (3-3 Freedom) while the Eagles dropped to 9-6 (2-4 Freedom).
FDU held a 15-9 edge with 5:05 left in the first half after a layup by freshman forward
Melissa DeHaas but the Eagles came back to cut it to one, 16-15, with 3:10 to go. The Devils closed the half on a 7-0 run though, to take a 23-15 lead into the locker room.
After Eastern cut it to six on the first possession of the second half, FDU went on a 26-13 run to take a 49-30 lead with 5:07 left. The Eagles pulled to 49-34 with 3:40 to go but that's as close as they would get as the Devils responded 10-2 run to seal the win.

Kandace Johnson tallied 10 points and four steals while junior center
Meghan Lentine pulled down nine rebounds.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at home against Misericordia on Alumni Day beginning at 1 pm. The Alumni Game starts at 10 am.
