Devils Downed By DeSales, 62-32

CENTER VALLEY, PA – The College at Florham Devils were knocked off by DeSales, 62-32, in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon, losing their eighth straight game.

 

With the loss, the Devils dropped to 6-9 (2-3 Freedom) while the Bulldogs improved to 9-6 (3-2 Freedom).

 

The Devils started the game slowly from the field, hitting only one of their first 22 shots as DeSales opened up a 19-7 lead with 9:29 left in the first half.  FDU then heated up a bit, cutting their deficit to 24-15 with 3:02 to go thanks to four points from freshman forward Melissa DeHaas.  The Bulldogs came right back though, closing the half with an 11-2 run to take a 35-17 halftime advantage.  It was more cold shooting for the Devils in the second half as FDU scored only seven points through the first15:22 of the second stanza.

 

DeHaas led the Devils with 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench while senior forward Shealyn Taggart added eight points and nine boards.

 

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at home against Eastern beginning at 6 pm.
