CENTER VALLEY, PA – The College at Florham Devils were defeated by DeSales, 74-58, in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 3-11 (1-4 Freedom) while the Bulldogs improved to 10-5 (2-3 Freedom).
In a fast-paced first half, there were 10 lead changes in the first ten minutes but the Devils held a 21-20 lead after a three-pointer from junior guard Joe Missale with 10:16 to go in the half. DeSales got on track though, ending the half with a 19-4 run to take a 39-25 lead into the locker room.
The Bulldogs continued their run to start the second half, ripping off a 13-2 run to grab a 52-27 advantage with 14:01 left in the game. FDU had one last attempt to get back in the game, going on an 18-6 run to pull to within 58-45 with 9:24 to go thanks to eight points from Missale. That was as close as the Devils would get though, as DeSales executed down the stretch to pull out the win.
Missale led the Devils by finishing with a career-high 18 points while senior center Ricky Fetske added 14 points. Junior guard Adam Katz and sophomore guard Mike Williamson each had eight points.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at DeSales beginning at 3 pm.
