MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils were defeated by Ramapo, 3-1, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 2-2.
Ramapo opened the scoring with just under five minutes gone by in the first half and the Roadrunners made it 2-0 with 27:52 left before the break. The Devils came back to cut it to 2-1 with 7:23 remaining in the first stanza when freshman forward Bethany Barrar (Somerset, MA/Somerset) converted a pass from junior midfielder Megan Springmeyer (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills). The Devils got a few good scoring opportunities in the second half but couldn't convert while Ramapo added an insurance goal with 13:01 left in the contest to ice the victory.
Freshman goalkeeper Tess Loughran (Newton, NJ/Newton) suffered the defeat, making six saves in goal.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at home against nationally ranked TCNJ beginning at 5:30 pm.
