MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils knocked off Moravian, 2-1, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 4-6.
Moravian got on the board very quickly, scoring the first goal just 0:43 into the contest. The Devils settled down from there though and tied the game at 1-1 with 15:53 left in the first half when junior midfielder
Megan Springmeyer (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills) banged home a rebound. FDU scored almost as quickly to begin the second half as the Greyhounds did to begin the first half, as senior forward
Lauren Fabrizio (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) also found the back of the cage off a rebound to give the Devils a 2-1 lead with 1:50 gone by. FDU controlled the action after that, as they did for most of the game, keeping the ball in the Moravian half of the field for the majority of the remaining time on the clock. The Devils held a 20-6 advantage in shots and a 10-4 edge in penalty corners.
Freshman goalkeeper
Tess Loughran (Newton, NJ/Newton) started and picked up the win as she played 61:37, making four saves.
The Devils return to action on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at cross-town rival Drew beginning at 7 pm.
