MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils went 2-1 in the Devils Quad on Saturday afternoon, beating Arcadia, 3-2, and Regis, 3-0, before losing to Union, 3-2.
After the quad, the Devils now stand at 15-5 on the season.
ARCADIA - FDU rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win 23-25, 24-26, 25-14, 25-16, 15-11. Sophomore outside hitter
Chelsea Hoeffler (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) and freshman middle hitter
Helena Riede (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley Demarest) had 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Senior middle hitter
Lauren Brazier (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville) finished with nine kills and 10 blocks, senior setter
Kerry Kuperman (Scottsdale, AZ/Chaparral) tallied 26 assists, sophomore setter
Nicole Weissert (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) notched 15 assists and 19 digs, senior defender
Marcie Schlanger (New City, NY/Clarkstown South) recorded 22 digs, junior defender
Jackie Kressaty (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) had 16 digs, and junior libero
Marta Matera (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) had 11 digs.
REGIS - The Devils put away Regis in the second match of the day by a score of 25-13, 25-17, 25-7. Sophomore right side
Nicole Peotter (New Providence, NJ/New Providence) led the way with 10 kills. Kuperman finished with 13 assists and eight digs while senior defender
Rachel Highley (New Holland, PA/Garden Spot) notched 11 digs.
UNION - FDU ended the day with a loss to Union, 3-2 (26-24, 23-25, 16-25, 25-19, 16-14). Brazier finished with 15 kills and nine assists, Riede tallied 16 kills, and Hoeffler notched 11 kills. Kuperman recorded 22 assists and 15 digs, Weissert had 21 assists and 19 digs, Matera had 25 digs, and Schlanger posted 20 digs.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at home against Eastern beginning at 7 pm.
