MADISON, NJ - Senior attack
Kristen Schuster (Centereach, NY/Centereach) had seven goals, including the 100th of her career, and one assist to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 20-6 win over Widener in Middle Atlantic Conference action on Thursday afternoon.
With the win, the Devils improved to 9-3 (7-0 MAC) while the Pride dropped to 8-4 (5-2 MAC).
FDU came out on fire, scoring the first six goals of the game to grab a 6-0 lead with 22:13 left in the first half. Schuster and junior midfielder
Lindsey Parent (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) each had two goals in the opening run. After Widener got on the board to make it 6-1, the Devils ripped off five of the next six goals to grab an 11-2 advantage with 14:58 left. The Pride got as close as they would get all afternoon by scoring the next two goals to close their gap to 11-4 but the Devils ended the half with the last three goals to take a 14-4 lead into halftime.
The Devils opened the second stanza by scoring four of the first five goals to take a commanding 18-5 lead with 11:44 left on Schuster's 100th career tally. The Pride then scored to make it 18-6 before the Devils scored the final two goals of the game.
Parent finished the game with four goals and two assists while sophomore attack
Breana Kilpatrick (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) added three goals and two assists. Senior goalkeeper
Brittany Laning (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) started and picked up the win, making six saves in the first half.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Messiah in a crucial conference match-up beginning at 1 pm.
