WILLIAMSPORT, PA - The College at Florham Devils rallied from a 7-4 deficit with 16:39 left in the game to beat Lycoming, 8-7, in Middle Atlantic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Devils improved to 8-2 (6-0 MAC) while the Warriors dropped to 4-7 (3-4 MAC).
Lycoming tallied the first two goals of the game but sophomore attack
Breana Kilpatrick (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) got the Devils on the board with 22:25 left in the first half. The Warriors scored the next two goals to grab a 4-1 advantage but junior midfielder
Lindsey Parent (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) made it 4-2 with 19:16 to go. The two teams traded goals later in the half to make the score 5-3 in favor of Lycoming heading into halftime.
The Devils started the second half by cutting the Lycoming lead to one, 5-4, when junior midfielder
Erika Depelteau (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro North) converted a pass from Parent. The Warriors then scored the next two goals to take a 7-4 lead with 16:39 left in the game but senior forward
Kristen Schuster (Centereach, NY/Centereach) notched two straight goals to pull FDU to within 7-6 with 12:29 to go. FDU won the draw and Schuster found senior attack
Linda Bohn (Vernon, NJ/Vernon Township) for the game-tying goal just 0:19 later. It was still 7-7 when Kilpatrick recorded the game-winner on a free-position shot with 8:29 remaining. There were some tense moments down the stretch for the Devils but the defense stood tall to earn the win.
Schuster finished with two goals and one assists while Kilpatrick and Bohn each had two goals. Parent added one goal and one assist. Senior goalkeeper
Brittany Laning (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) picked up the win, making six saves.
The Devils return to action on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Rowan beginning at 6 pm.
