Shaleah Alston tallied 26 points, seven assists and seven steals while junior guard
Kandace Johnson aded 13 points and eight steals to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 77-47 win over John Jay on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 4-1 while the Bloodhounds dropped to 0-3.
Throught the first 4:50 of the game, FDU held a 9-8 lead but then the Devils went on an 11-0 run to grab a 20-8 lead with 10:20 left in the half thanks to six points from senior guard
Lynn Lopez. After John Jay cut it to 26-17 with 6:23 remaining, the Devils went on a 12-2 run to grab a 38-19 advantage on their way to a 38-23 halftime lead. Johnson had nine points during the spurt.
It was all smooth sailing for the Devils in the second as the closest the Bloodhounds got was 17 points, 45-28, with 15:25 left in the game. At one point in the second half, FDU saw their lead balloon to as many as 34 points, 77-43.
Lopez finished with 12 points off the bench while junior center
Meghan Lentine added six points and 10 rebounds off the pine.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, with their Freedom Conference opener at Delaware Valley beginning at 6 pm.
