MADISON, NJ - Senior forward
Lauren Fabrizio (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) scored two goals to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 2-1 win over Kean in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Devils evened their record at 6-6.
Fabrizio got the Devils on the board first when she knocked home a rebound off a saved shot by sophomore midfielder
Kelsey Kistle (Sandyston, NJ/Kittatinny). FDU held that 1-0 lead throughout the remainder of the first half but the Cougars tied the score at 1-1 just 6:45 into the second stanza. It was a back-and-forth battle after that until Fabrizio notched the game-winner off another saved shot, this time by sophomore forward
Corey VanOrden (Sussex, NJ/High Point), with 11:42 left in the contest. The Cougars got numerous good looks to tie the game down the stretch but freshman goalkeeper
Tess Loughran (Newton, NJ/Newton) was up to the task as she stood tall and helped the Devils to the win.
Loughran finished the game with 11 saves.
The Devils return to action on Friday, October 8, 2010, at home against Delaware Valley on Alumni Appreciation Day beginning at 7 pm.
