Devils Downed By Misericordia, 81-67

DALLAS, PA - Junior center Ricky Fetske (Galloway, NJ/Absegami) had 12 points and 12 rebounds but it wasn't enough as the College at Florham Devils were beaten by Misericordia, 81-67, in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Devils dropped to 0-16 (0-7 Freedom) while the Cougars improved to 9-8 (3-4 Freedom).

It was a back-and-forth affair to start the game as the score was tied at 13-13 with 6:55 gone by in the first half.  Misericordia made the first big move of the contest, going on a 14-6 run to take a 27-19 advantage with 5:51 remaining.  FDU responded immediately though, going on a 13-5 run over the next four minutes to tie the game at 32-32 with 1:48 to go.  Freshman guard Mike Williamson (Piscataway, NJ/Bishop Ahr) had eight points in the run for the Devils.  The Cougars got the last bucket of the half to take a 34-32 edge into the locker room.

Misericordia built their lead up to eight points, 43-35, to begin the second half but the Devils pulled to within 43-40 with 14:27 left in the contest.  That's when the Cougars got hot though, going on a 13-4 run to take a 56-44 lead with 11:03 to go.  The Devils came right back with a run of their own to cut the deficit to 58-55 with 7:30 left thanks to nine points from sophomore guard Joe Missale (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee).  The Cougars got the lead right back up to double digits, 65-55, and after FDU cut it to 65-60 with 5:07 left, Misericordia finished the game on a 16-7 run to earn the 81-67 victory.

Williamson finished the game with 10 points while sophomore guard Bobby Faiges (Bayville, NJ/Lakewood Prep) had six points, five rebounds and five assists.  Sophomore guard Adam Katz (Wharton, NJ/Morris Hills) had five points in his first game back from an ankle injury that sidelined him for the previous seven contests.

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at home against Lebanon Valley beginning at 7 pm.
