Senior forward Danielle Michlovsky (Wind Gap, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had game-highs of 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 54-41 win over Eastern in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 8-8 (3-3 Freedom) while the Eagles dropped to 5-8 (0-6 Freedom).
FDU jumped out to an 8-2 lead before the Eagles came back to tie it at 8-8 with 12:30 left in the first half. The Devils then erupted for a 13-2 run over the next four minutes to grab a 21-10 advantage. Eastern cut it to six, 25-19, with 3:00 left in the half but the Devils ended the first stanza on a 13-2 run to take a 38-21 lead into intermission.
With the lead at 41-23, Eastern went on a 11-3 run to pull to within 44-34 with 6:10 remaining. The Eagles cut it to 10 points on two other occasions but FDU would allow them to get no closer as they executed down the stretch to earn the win.
Freshman guard Samantha Savona (Jackson, NJ/Liberty) came off the bench to score 11 points while sophomore center Meghan Lentine (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) pulled down eight rebounds.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Misericordia beginning at 1 pm.
