MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils were defeated by DeSales, 64-48, in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 0-14 (0-5 Freedom) while the Bulldogs improved to 11-4 (5-0 Freedom).
DeSales came out of the gate quickly, opening up a 15-6 lead with 5:21 gone by in the first half. After the Devils cut it to 15-13, the Bulldogs scored eight unanswered points to take a 23-13 advantage. FDU cut it to six, 29-23, with 4:49 left but DeSales went on a 6-0 run to take a 35-23 lead on their way to a 35-25 halftime edge.
The Bulldogs started the second half faster than they began the first half, building a 50-30 advantage with 11:48 to play. The Devils were able to cut the deficit to 12 points three times but could never get any closer, allowing DeSales to remain perfect in conference play.
Junior forward
George Twill (Mendham, NJ/Mendham) had a team-high 14 points for FDU while junior center
Ricky Fetske (Galloway, NJ/Absegami) added nine points and nine rebounds. Freshman forward
Derek Hall (Oak Ridge, NJ/Jefferson) chipped in six points and eight boards off the bench.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Eastern beginning at 8 pm.
