Fairleigh Dickinson University has announced the hiring of Kendall Luy as the first men's and women's track and field coach in school history. Luy arrives in New Jersey after five years at Division III Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas.

Luy enters her second season as both the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Men's Women's Track & Field team Head Coach at FDU-Florham in 2023-24. 

In her head coaching debut for the Devils, Luy was seen coaching the cross country teams through six meets as well as helping produce personal records, with almost breaking program records at the same time. 

On the track and field, both indoors and out, the 2022-23 season's was coached with honor as Luy was the first head coach of the FDU-Florham track and field programs. Within the first season many improvements and accomplishments took place including placing in many events. A total of three medals for the MAC Indoor Championships were collected in the triple jump and long jump. In the outdoor season, improvements and accomplishments kept piling up as the Devils collected three MAC Outdoor Championship medals in the high jump, triple jump, and the 400-meter hurdles. Several other medals were collected at the 2023 ECAC Outdoor Championships on both the men's and women's sides. 

Before her time at FDU-Florham, Luy served as the head coach for the Mountaineers men's and women's track and field programs from 2017-21. At the same time, Luy was also the Assistant Coach for the men's and women's cross country teams and then was promoted to Head Coach for those programs prior to the 2019 season. Luy was tasked with starting the women's track and field program and restarting the men's track and field program in her four years at Schreiner.

"This is an exciting time for Fairleigh Dickinson University athletics and I am looking forward to being a part of that and building an all-around competitive track and field program."
 
Prior to her time at Schreiner, Luy coached men's and women's cross country and and men's and women's track and field at now Division II Frostburg State University. Luy began as a graduate assistant for the Bobcats in 2008 and was promoted to an Assistant Coach for all six teams in 2011.
 
As a collegiate coach, Luy has seen four student-athletes qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championship, two student-athletes win ECAC Division III Championship titles, 23 student-athletes earn Capital Athletic Conference All-League honors and four student-athletes break school records. 
 
Luy competed as a Division III student-athlete at Susquehanna University for four years and earned four varsity letters as a member of the women's track and field program in Selinsgrove, Pa. In 2008, Luy was a provisional qualifier in the javelin throw for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship and over her four years at Susquehanna she earned five All-Conference awards. Luy earned her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Susquehanna University and her Master's in Counseling Psychology from Frostburg State University.
