Rosamaria Riccobono

CAREER WRITE-UP
Riccobono joined FDU-Florham after serving as an assistant coach at Ramapo College in 2023. During her time with the Roadrunners, she played a key role in improving the team’s statistics in ground balls, caused turnovers, clears, and save percentage. She was also heavily involved in scouting and game planning.

From 2021 to 2023, Riccobono served as the Director of Girls North for the Building Blocks Lacrosse Club. In this role, she oversaw all aspects of the Girls North Region, including roster management, team operations, and college recruiting support. Several teams went on to win championships at NXT Level Nine, NGLL 2026, and Platinum Games. She also introduced a sports psychology initiative aimed to promote mental performance training for young athletes.

Prior to Building Blocks, Riccobono was the assistant women’s lacrosse coach and recruiting coordinator at Eastern Connecticut State University from 2019 to 2021. She led non-traditional season training, oversaw all aspects of recruiting, and contributed to off-field operations including fundraising, alumni relations, and social media content development.

Riccobono previously served as head women’s lacrosse coach at Division III Elms College from 2017 to 2019, where she compiled a 20–17 overall record and an 11–2 mark in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play. In her debut season, she led the Blazers to a perfect 7–0 conference record, the program’s first NECC playoff championship, and an NCAA Tournament appearance. She was named the 2018 NECC Coach of the Year.

During her time at Elms, the program earned 17 All-NECC selections (including seven first-team honorees), and produced major conference and institutional award winners such as the NECC Player of the Year (2018), NECC Senior Female Athlete of the Year (2019), and the school’s Female Athlete of the Year (2019). Additionally, 17 players earned NECC All-Academic honors, and 12 were recognized by the IWLCA for academic excellence.

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Riccobono has worked with elite programs such as Team 91 Tri-State, Central Lacrosse Club, Trilogy Lacrosse, and GameBreaker Lacrosse. She is also the founder and owner of Altitude Lacrosse, LLC, a small training company focused on private lessons, town lacrosse programs, and camps/clinics for girls.

Riccobono earned her B.S. in Sport and Leisure Management from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2017. A four-year member of the ECSU Women’s Lacrosse Program, she was active in leadership roles off the field, serving a two-year term on the NCAA Division III National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

“I am humbled to be selected as the next Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. I would like to thank Kristin Giotta and the search committee for this incredible opportunity to join the FDU community,” Riccobono stated. “I'm committed to fostering an exceptional student-athlete experience and continuing the charge to be a top contender in the MAC Freedom Conference with the ultimate goal of competing at the national level. I'm eager to get started and to work with this dedicated group of student-athletes!”
