CAREER WRITE-UP
Richard Palm joined FDU as the head men's and women's swim coach and aquatics director in 2017.
In May 2018, Palm attended the USA Swimming National Diversity Select Camp at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Spring, Colorado. Palm also has coached on the club level, having a swimmer achieve Scholastic All-American accolades.
During the 2017-2018 season, Molly Miller and Bohdan Semak became the first two swimmers in school history to qualify for the ECAC Championships, as the team broke 23 school records. Miller and Semak competed against Division I, II and III swimmers in the event. Semak and Miller were also selected as All-MAC Swimmers, the first in program history on either side. Both the men and women's teams finished eighth at the MAC Championships.
During his first season, the Devils had 19 school records broken. The men's team finished 10th at the MAC Championships, as the women's team finished 12th.
Palm swam at Division I Loyola University in Maryland where he helped the team win the MAAC Conference Championship three straight years. While at Loyola, Palm had the opportunity to train with Michael Phelps and Bob Bowman.
Additionally, Palm coaches at the silver-medal accredited Cougar Aquatic Team program.
Previously, Palm was an assistant coach for two years at St. Peters University.
