Gene McDonald enters his first year coaching on the FDU-Florham coaching staff where he will be helping out infield/outfield coach and first base coach duties.
McDonald comes to FDU as an experienced summer collegiate baseball volunteer coach. He has head coach many years at the American Legion Baseball Level. He has also been president of Morris Plains Little league many years back in days.
McDonald played collegiate baseball four years Montclair State. His senior year he led his team in triples and fielding percentage. He played first base and batted .349 for Montclair.
McDonald finished out a great career of 32 years @ FedEx and is very excited to start a new career with collegiate baseball. He lives in Morris Plains,NJ. He is married to wife Sharon (27 yrs) and parent of three children Stephanie (alumni of Marist College), John (Sr. Millerville University) and Christopher (Soph. FDU-Florham)
