The Sports Information Office is part of the athletics department and consists of two full-time employees and one graduate assistant – the sports information director, assistant sports information director – and also employs student workers and internships who help with recording statistics and game management duties at events, as well as administrative duties in the office.
The office is responsible for disseminating information regarding the University's athletics department, including its 23 intercollegiate athletics programs. The office writes game stories and press releases, compiles statistics, maintains record books, updates and maintains the athletics website, produces game programs, and handles video streaming at select home athletic events.
The office also nominates student-athletes for conference, regional and national awards, both athletic and academic. It also coordinates all photography and videography for the athletics department and contributes to other University publications as requested.
Interviews
All non-game day requests for student-athlete and coach interviews must be made through the athletic communications office. On game days, post-game interviews can be arranged by contacting the on-site athletic communications representative. Media should not attempt to contact student-athletes through social media channels. Doing so may result in loss of credentialing at the University athletics events.
Credentials
No FDU-Florham issued credentials are needed for media access at regular-season FDU-Florham athletic events; credentials are required for MAC and NCAA Tournament competition. We request that media contact the athletic communications office 48 hours in advance to assure field safety. Media should not attempt to contact student-athletes through social media channels. Doing so may result in loss of credentialing at the University athletics events.
Photographers
Photographers are permitted in the typical NCAA-designated areas depending on the sport and facility; please check with an athletic communications staff member if you are unsure or need special accommodations. Contact the athletic communications office 48 hours in advance of all photography requests. Media should not attempt to contact student-athletes through social media channels. Doing so may result in loss of credentialing at the University athletics events.
Parking
Parking for on-campus events is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
