MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham volleyball team split its home tri-match Friday afternoon as the Devils fell to Emmanuel College 3-1 in four sets before salvaging the day with a 3-0 sweep of John Jay College. 

DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS (vs John Jay)

• Arianna Wood finished the day with 16 Digs against the Bloodhounds
• Mackenzie Crandall and Hannah Weinmann each had eight kills
• Genevieve Fitch and Laci Merz each finished with seven kills apiece

HOW IT HAPPENED (vs John Jay)

• Set 1 was close all the way through to the end with the Devils' largest lead only being five points. The Devils ended the set with kills from Crandall and Weinmann to take Set 1 25-19.
• Set 2 saw the Devils mount a comeback victory as FDU went on a 7-0 run to turn a 10-6 deficit to a 13-10 lead. FDU led the rest of the way and took Set 2 25-21.
• Going for the sweep in Set 3, the Devils came out strong with an immediate 5-0 lead highlighted by back-to-back kills from Crandall. 
• The Bloodhounds mounted their own small comeback and took a 16-11 lead. 
•  The set went back and forth until it was 20-20, and the Devils completed the three-set sweep with a 5-0 run to take Set 3 25-20. 

GAME NOTES

• The Devils finished with 15 errors compared to 23 by the Bloodhounds.

FDU returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 10 as the Devils host St. Joseph's Brooklyn. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
