BELLPORT, N.Y. – The FDU-Florham men's golf team finished third of six teams in the two-day Long Island Championship across both Friday and Saturday.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS
- Connor Dillon and Aiden Markey finished tied for ninth as the pair. both shot a 76 in Round 1 and an 85 in Round 2 for a combined 161.
- Mario Lamperti finished one stroke behind Dillon and Markey as he shot a combined 162 with an 85 in Round 1 and a 77 in Round 2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Round 1 saw a combined 42 pars from the Devils with Jack Kopera and Dillon providing the only two birdies of the round for FDU.
- Kopera birdied the par-four hole five while Dillon birdied the par-five hole 18.
- Markey bested Dillon by one stroke in Round 1 as he finished with FDU's top score on Friday with a 75.
- In Round 2, FDU combined for 10 birdies as Lamperti led the way with three and the threesome of Trent Fischer, Kopera, and Markey finished with two each.
- Lamperti was the only Devils player to finished under 80 as he shot a 77 in Round 2.
