MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The FDU-Florham softball team won its fifth, sixth and seventh games in a row on Tuesday as the Devils celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a 2-0 win over Mt. Aloysius, followed by a 5-1 win over SUNY Polytechnic Institute, and then an 8-0 routing of Centenary to close out the day.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS (vs Mt Aloysius)
- Riley Signor and Alison Wysocki knocked in the game's only runs.
- Giana Abinanti secured her second win of the year with a complete game shutout, allowing just five hits with four strikeouts and no walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Signor drove in Mollie Reece with a SAC fly in the bottom of the first to make it a 1-0 game.
- In the second, Alison Wysocki knocked in Kylee Berg with an RBI-single to extend the FDU lead to 2-0.
- A 2-0 lead was all Abinanti needed in the end as she only faced 27 hitters, just six over the minimum.
DEVILS HIGHLIGHTS (vs SUNY Poly)
- Jada Lambright went 2-for-4 with an RBI on the day.
- Abigail Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a triple and one RBI.
- Kelly Cornog earned her third win of the year with a complete game as she allowed an unearned run on just five hits and three strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the bottom of the second, the Devils plated two runs on a Wildcats error and FDU took a 2-0 lead.
- Wysocki added to the lead with an infield RBI-single to score Capparelli and make it a 3-0 game.
- Still in the second, Olear reached on a fielder's choice and drove home Rodriguez followed by an RBI-single from Lambright and the Devils extended their lead to 5-0.
- Cornog continued to shut down the Wildcats, but in the seventh, SUNY Polytechnic scored its lone run of the game on a Shelbi Hagues RBI-single.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first, Reece scored on an error by the shortstop to put FDU ahead 1-0.
- In the second, Wysocki and Reece each drove in a run to make it 3-0.
- In the third, Wodecki doubled home Lambright, then in the fifth, FDU scored four runs and Burrell played hero as she singled home the game-winning run to extend FDU's win streak to seven in a row.
GAME NOTES
- This is FDU's best start since going 5-0 to start the 2023 season.
- Starting 7-0 is the best start in program history dating back to 2009.

The Devils conclude their spring break trip on Wednesday, March 18 as FDU faces UMSV at 9 a.m. followed by another bout with Scranton at 11 a.m.
