MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham Devils women's soccer team hosted Rutgers-Newark this evening for a non-conference match. The Devils and Scarlet Raiders played a close game, but FDU came out victorious winning 3-2. 

 
 
Devils Highlights 

• First year midfielder Riley Northridge made her first collegiate goal and first goal of tonight's match  

• Selena Rivera scored her first collegiate goal, helping FDU take the 2-1 lead 

• First year forward Audrey Martinho brought the score to a 3-1, earning her first collegiate goal on the play 

• Junior Goalkeeper Ava Gianni totaled 6 saves during her 90:00 minutes of game play 

How it Happened 

• Early into the first half, as the Scarlet Raiders defense worked to keep the ball away from the Devils, Northridge gained control and flew past Rutgers-Newark defense. She charged towards the goal as she met with the Scarlet Raiders goalkeeper at the top of the box. Northridge took the shot into an open goal for the point. 

• With an even 1-1 score, both teams fought to take the lead. FDU offense pressed hard and with a pass from Anna Kosta, Rivera had control of the ball, scoring the Devils second goal allowing them to take the 2-1 lead. 

• A defensive kick from the Scarlet Raiders was picked up by Martinho near the 40'. The first year took the shot from 30' yards out and landed it to the back of the net, right past the fingertips of the Rutgers-Newark goalkeeper. 

Up Next 
The Devils will continue home this weekend on Saturday, Sept. 13 for a match against Farmingdale State. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm.
