butMADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham Devils women's basketball team battled in a close game against the Notre Dame of Maryland Gators but finished on top with a score of 68-63.

How it Happened
- The close game was initiated in the first quarter as the Devils and Gators were tied 4-4 with 8:55 on the clock
- Notre Dame of Maryland went on an 8-point unanswered scoring run to take the score to 12-4
- The Devils trailed close behind for the remainder of the quarter and points from Sode, Kristen Mellon, Walker, Sullivan, Clancy, and Alexa Chapman brought FDU to a 17-16 lead going into the second period
- The Devils offense kept pressing but the score continued to remain within 2-point range for both sides
- The Gators and Devils went shot for shot, reaching an even score of 26-26 at the 4:14 minute mark of the second quarter
- With 1:37 left before the half, the Gators were up 31-30 but 2 made free throws from Tighe secured the Devils lead going into the third quarter
- FDU gained a 7-point lead with points from Sullivan, Tighe, and Centeno to begin the third
- The Devils continued their offensive efforts ending the quarter leading 48-42
- With 4:26 left in the fourth quarter, the Gators came within 1-point of tying, but the Devils fought to keep the lead until the end
- Sullivan secured the Devils win with 4 made free throws to wrap up the final quarter
