Madison, N.J. (June 25)- In the final release of the year for the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams, the FDU Devils saw 10 of their spring student-athletes selected as NCAA/NAIA At-Large Sports honorees.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA
The 10 student-athletes spanned from four of the Devils 22 NCAA Division III sports.
Dominic Aquilio (Basking Ridge, N.J.)Â was the lone representative from the Men's Golf team.
Jarrett Dugenio (Bridgewater, N.J.), Nicholas Perillo (Jackson, N.J.) and
Tyler Perkins (Richboro, Pa.) were selected from the Men's Lacrosse program. Representing the Women's Lacrosse team was
Erin Kay (Lewes, Del.), Jenna Ranney (Forest Hill, Md.) and
Claudia Zappia (South Brunswick, N.J.). Wrapping up the at-large honorees for the Devils were
Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, N.J.), Shannon Flatt (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) and
Emma Letizia (North Haledon, N.J.) from the Women's Golf program.

Aquilio, graduated this spring with a degree in sports management and with a 3.63 GPA. Dominic competed in nine of 10 matches for the Devils during the year. His career-low score came at the MAC Freedom Championship when he shot a 91 on Day one. He also shot a 93 during FDU's tri-match win against William Paterson and Yeshiva on April 11.

Dugenio, played in all 16 games for men's lacrosse with eight starts while maintaining a 3.72 GPA as a Graphic Design major. Jarrett led the teams in goals (27) and points (35) this season in his first year as a Devil after transferring from Quinnipiac. The junior midfielder also collected 23 ground balls and caused eight ground balls.

Perillo, a computer science major, played in all 16 games for men's lacrosse with three starts and graduated this spring with a 3.52 GPA. He had a career year with 25 goals and 31 points in his senior season. Perillo also collected six assists, 17 ground balls and caused three turnovers.

Perkins started all 16 games for men's lacrosse and maintained a 3.63 GPA as a Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management major. As a defenseman, he led the team in caused turnovers with 22 on the year and picked up 28 ground balls.

Kay, a graphic design major, started all 14 games on defense for the Devils and graduated this spring with a 3.82 GPA, that included a 4.0 this past semester. Kay played a pivotal role for the Devils on defense and notched seven ground balls and seven caused turnovers on the season.

Ranney started all 13 appearances on the turf for women's lacrosse and wrapped up her career as a graduate student marketing major with a 3.8 GPA. She was named an All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention player this season and accumulated 37 goals, 11 assists, 21 ground balls, eight caused turnovers, and 34 draw control wins.

Zappia, holds a 3.96 career GPA as a psychology major, that included a perfect 4.0 GPA this semester. She started all 14 games for women's lacrosse and totaled 49 points on 24 goals and 25 assists on the season. She also tallied eight ground balls, and three caused turnovers.

Blackburn makes the list for women's golf after competing in all eight matches and earning a 3.91 GPA as a graduate student in health studies that included a 4.0 GPA this spring. She shot her career-low this season of 91 in a quad match against Wilkes, King's (Pa.) and Marywood in the fall. She wrapped up her collegiate career with a score of 99 in the MAC Championship. She also accomplished this while playing and starting all 14 games for women's lacrosse.

Flatt, an Elementary Special Education major, earned a 4.0 GPA this spring and holds a 3.79 cumulative GPA. She competed in all eight matches for women's golf. Her best score of the season came at the quad match in the fall against Wilkes, King's (Pa.) and Marywood when she carded a 104.

Letizia competed in all eight matches for women's golf throughout the year while maintaining a 3.63 GPA as a Social and Behavioral Sciences major. Her best score of the season came in a tri-match against Wilkes and King's (Pa.) in the spring, where she carded a 108.
