Myrtle Beach, SC (March 11) – In games three and four of the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic held in Myrtle Beach, the FDU-Florham Softball team (2-5) saw a seventh-inning comeback against Notre Dame Maryland (1-1) for the 6-4 win. In Game two, the Devils faced Gwynedd Mercy (2-1) and walked away with 12-1 loss to the Gryphons.
Game 1:
After
Kacie Centineo (Waldwick, NJ) put the first run on the scoreboard with a triple to right center field for the RBI, Notre Dame was able to even the score in the bottom of the first with a run of their own.
The Devils were able to take the lead back in the second inning as
Abigail Rodriguez (Woodbridge, NJ) sacrificed a fly to center field to bring in FDU's second run.
Notre Dame was able to take control of the game throughout the third, fourth, and fifth innings as they added another three runs to up the score to 4-2.
In the sixth inning,
Centineo recorded her 100th career hit with a single up the middle. Her hit allowed the Devils to gain the needed moment headed into the seventh inning.
Kylee Berg (Bordentown, NJ) started the seventh inning with a double through the right side, bringing in two RBI to tie the score at 4-4. The Devils were able to then take the lead as a wild pitch brought in the leading run.
Alissa Gallion (Roseland, NJ) claimed the attention of Notre Dame with a drop-third-strike bringing in the Devils' sixth and final run in for the 6-4 win over the Notre Dame Gators.
Recording the win for the Devils was
Kelly Cornog (Newtown Square, PA) (1-0) as she recorded her first win of the season with four strikeouts and faced 12 batters. Gena Donalds pitched five innings for the Gators and accounted for one strikeout on facing 19 batters.

Game 2:
In their game against Gwynedd Mercy, the Devils were able to record a hit in all six innings, including a run in the first inning, six runs in the third inning, and five runs in the sixth inning.
A total of eight runs were accounted for FDU-Florham but were not able to be converted to runs as the Gryphons dominated on both the offensive and defensive ends for the 12-1 win over the Devils.
FDU-Florham had three pitchers in the circle this game but unfortunately,
Victoria Fantozzi (Hillsborough, NJ) (0-1) was assigned the loss after pitching three innings with two strikeouts while facing 19 batters.
FDU-Florham will return to the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic on Wednesday, March 13 for a 1pm and 3pm game against Dean College and Brevard College.
