Madison, NJ. (October 1)- The FDU-Florham Women's Soccer Team falls to Alvernia 2-0 after the Golden Wolves were able to land a shot in the beginning of both halves.

The Alvernia Golden Wolves started out the contest strong, earning a goal within the first two minutes of game play. The FDU Devils did not allow Alvernia to continue their offensive control as they out shot the Golden Wolves 13-6, (5-4 shots on goal) in the first half. The Devils also led in penalty corners 4-1, yet none were converted, and the score remained 1-0 up until the half.
The score stayed 1-0 until 15 minutes into the second half, when the Alvernia scored their second goal of the match. With the score now 2-0, the Devils fought to have as many offensive opportunities as they could while keeping a strong defense to avoid another Golden Wolf goal. FDU-Florham continued to lead the game in shooting 31-10 (10-6 on goal), and 6-2 on penalty corners but were not able to convert any of these opportunities.
In goal for full duration of the match was Ava Gianni (North Brunswick Township, NJ), as she saved 4 of the 6 shots taken on goal by Alvernia.
The FDU-Florham Devils will next go on the road as they travel to Stevens on Saturday, October 5th for a 2:00pm matchup.
