Women's Soccer Misses Mark Against Pittsburgh-Greensburg, 3-2

Madison, NJ (November 11) – The FDU-Florham women's soccer team hosted Pittsburgh-Greensburg for the DIII ECAC Women's Soccer Semifinal Championships, but overall fell 3-2 to the Bobcats.

FDU-Florham was out to a strong start as the Devils collected eleven shots, compared to the Bobcats' three shots on goal in the first half.
 
The Devils were able to take a 1-0 lead at the 23:47 mark as Ashley Dietrich (Middletown, NJ) found Madison Kleinwaks (Boonton, NJ) ahead for the chip in goal, past the Pittsburgh-Greensburg goalie.
 
With almost 15 minutes left to play in the second half, the Devils added their second goal of the night as Dietrich was able to coral the ball and sent it to the lower right corner, to go up 2-0.
 
Pittsburgh-Greensburg notched their first goal of the night at the 37:54 timestamp, as the goal was scored off a FDU-Florham defender.
 
The game tying goal came in the 66th minute of the match when Megan Hickey was able to cross the ball across the goal box to Logan Jennings, and over the FDU-Florham goalie.
 
In the 72nd minute of the match, the Bobcats found the break they needed to take the led as Maya Wertelet was able to capitalize on a rebound shot for the team's third goal of the game and the game winning goal of the match.
 
FDU-Florham tried their best to convert for another game tying goal but came up short as the Pittsburgh- Greensburg defense was able to secure the 3-2 victory, to advance to the ECAC Championship game.
 
Graduate Senior goalkeeper Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) collected two saves on eight shots to cap her collegiate career.
