Women's Soccer Caps Senior Day with a 3-2 Over Delaware Valley

Madison, NJ (October 28) – The FDU-Florham women's soccer team hosted Delaware Valley for their last regular season MAC Freedom contest and honored its seniors before the match. The Devils defeated the Aggies by a score of 3-2 in today's contest.

FDU-Florham was seen in the first half with the advantage as they took aim on 12 different opportunities, compared to Delaware Valley who to only seven opportunities to shoot.
 
Just two minutes into the first half, the Aggies were able to score the first goal of the match as Jess Williamson sent the ball to the back of the net after receiving a pass from the middle.
 
At the 18th minute of the match, The Devils answered with a pass from Lauren Byrne (Roxbury, NJ) to senior Angelique Mueller (Blackwood, NJ) as she was able to send the ball past the goalie for her first goal of the season and the Devils first goal of the game.
 
Before the first half expired, The Devils were able to net their second goal of the day from Mia Lopez (Rockaway, NJ) after receiving the pass from Madison Kleinwaks (Boonton, NJ) in the 41st minute of the game, 2-1.
 
Delaware Valley scored the equalizing goal in the final eight minutes of the match as Savannah Rennix was able to defeat her defenders and the goalie for a chip-in goal.
 
The winning goal of the game was scored of the Devils free kick bout 20 yards out. Kleinwaks lined up for the shot, bent it around her defenders and placed just out of reach of goalie to score, 3-2.
 
The Devils overall ended their regular season with a 3-2 win over Delaware Valley.
 
In goal for the Devils was senior Maggie Horn (Pompton Lakes, NJ) as she was seen starting the match and collected two saves for her first collegiate start. Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) assumed her position in goal for the remained of the game and was forced to make six saves in today's match.
