Mahwah, NJ (September 1) - The FDU-Florham women's soccer team opened its 2022 campaign with a 2-1 road victory on Thursday afternoon at Ramapo College.

The Roadrunners wasted no time putting the first goal on the board at the 2:44 mark, taking advantage of a breakaway opportunity and putting the ball in the bottom right corner of the net for the 1-0 advantage.
The Devils rallied back in the second half with two goals in a span of seven minutes at the 63:30 and 70:29 timestamps. FDU's first goal of the season was scored by sophomore forward
Mia Lopez (Rockaway, NJ), who tallied a goal off her own original shot to tie the contest. The game-winning goal was scored by sophomore midfielder
Daniella Conanan (Hazlet, NJ), who ripped a shot off an assist from senior defender
Francesca Escudero (Bridgewater, NJ) for the 2-1 victory.
FDU controlled most of the offensive opportunities, outshooting Ramapo, 17-7, including a 10-2 difference in the second half.
Senior goalkeeper
Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) started her season off between the pipes with a victory collecting three saves on the day.
The Devils will continue on the road as they travel to Wayne, NJ on Saturday, September 3 for a matchup with William Paterson at 5:00 pm.
FDU-Florham is currently running a campaign in honor of former Devils men's basketball head coach, men's golf coach and athletic director Roger Kindel.
All donations will go directly towards funding a complete renovation of the basketball and volleyball court inside the Ferguson Recreation Center with his name dawned on both sides.
