Reading, Pa. (March 26) – The FDU-Florham women's golf team opened its spring season on Saturday afternoon at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Spring Shootout that was hosted by Alvernia University at Golden Oaks Country Club.

The Devils finished fifth as a team and was led by Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ), who registered a personal best score of 113, an improvement of seven strokes from her score this fall. Blackburn's round on Saturday was highlighted by a par on the par three, 13th hole.

Saturday's match marked the first time in three seasons that the FDU-Florham women's golf team has fielded a full team of five student-athletes and has been able to compete as a complete team.

The match also marked the first collegiate golf match for Dominique Rodriguez (Pittsgrove, NJ), Shannon Flatt (Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ) and Morgan Keller (Toms River, NJ). Rodriguez finished just three strokes behind Blackburn and saw her best scores come on the par four, 2nd hole, the par three, 13th hole and the par three, 15th hole.
