Annville, Pa. (February 28) – After defeating Stockton University on Saturday afternoon, 13-4, the FDU-Florham women's lacrosse team swept the weekly awards from the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) when the office announced their winners today.
Junior midfielder
Kylee Garcia (Branchburg, NJ) was named as the league's Offensive Player of the Week, while first-year goalkeeper
Jamie Kubach (Philadelphia, Pa.) earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Garcia posted four goals and three assists for seven points in a 13-4 season opening win over Stockton University on Saturday afternoon. Garcia, who went, 2-for-2 on free position attempts, added two ground balls and two caused turnovers to her stat line in a game that saw the Devils outscore the Ospreys 13-0 over a span of straight 46 minutes.
In her first collegiate start in net against Stockton University, Kubach picked up the victory, made 12 saves, caused one turnover and scooped up two ground balls for the Devils.
FDU-Florham (1-0) will travel to Montclair State University on Wednesday, March 2 for a non-conference contest beginning at 4:00 pm.
