Franklin, NJ (October 6) – For the second consecutive day, the FDU-Florham men's golf team shot a 316 and earned a victory in a dual match. This afternoon, the Devils eased past William Paterson University, 316-366, and saw four of six student-athletes shoot 79 or lower.
FDU-Florham first-year
Chris DeRogatis (Branchburg, NJ) finished first overall in the field of 12 student-athletes with a 76 (+5). This marks the second time this fall, that DeRogatis has shot a 79 or lower. The first-year two-putt birdied the 535-yard, par five, sixth hole, nearly aced the 143-yard, par three, 11th hole and made a 15-foot putt for birdie on the 372-yard, par four, 18th hole.
Junior
Vinny Dasaro (Vernon, NJ) and junior
Andrew McKernan tied for second with their scores of 77 (+6). Dasaro, who individually won yesterday's dual at Delaware Valley, two-putt birdied the 484-yard, par five, second hole, two-putt birdied the par five, sixth hole and made a 15-footer for birdie on the 154-yard, par three, 14th hole. McKernan's round was highlighted by a 20-foot putt for birdie on the par five, second hole.
Despite playing as an individual in today's dual, first-year
Connor Dillon (Waldwick, NJ) finished fourth overall with a score of 79 (+8). Dillon, who registered a career-low score today, two-putt birded both par fives on the front nine and made a ten foot putt for birdie on the 357-yard, par four, 17th hole.
Sophomore
Grant Jenkins (Long Valley, NJ) and graduate student
Austin Whiteman (Parsippany, NJ) rounded out the day for FDU-Florham with scores of 86 (+15) and 98 (+27), respectively.
The Devils will return to action on Monday, October 10 at the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational which is scheduled to take place at the Lehigh Country Club and begin at 12:00 pm.
