Women’s Soccer Tripped Up By DeSales 2-0 in MAC Freedom Play

Madison, NJ (October 12) - The FDU-Florham women's soccer team fell to the DeSales Bulldogs, 2-0, in a MAC Freedom game on Robert T. Shields Field, in Madison, NJ Wednesday afternoon. DeSales came into today's game ranked sixth in this week's United Soccer Coaches Region IV poll.

Neither team was unable to score in the first half until the 43rd minute, when DeSales sophomore Emma Riberio scored what proved to be the game winning goal. She was assisted by Tori Harnnett and Sammy Fanger, on a pair of one touch passes.

Riberio was able to connect for her second goal of the game at the 77:18 minute timestamp, for her seventh goal of the season. She was assisted by Sammi Mcbride off a throw form around yards 20 yards out.

Senior goalkeeper Erica Blackburn (Marlboro, NJ) was forced to make a season high 11 saves in today's contest for the Devils.

FDU-Florham is back in action again Saturday October 15 at 3:00 PM, when they hit the road to take on  MAC Freedom rival, nationally ranked #3/3 Misericordia.
