Langhorne, Pa. (September 4) – Led by a new school 4k record by sophomore
Victor Sayde (Ridgefield, NJ), the FDU-Florham men's cross country team finished second at the 2021 Cairn University Mini Highlander meet on Friday afternoon.
Sayde, who broke the school record by over 11 second with a time of 15:24.4, finished seventh overall in the field of 34 student-athletes. The old 4k school record was held by Robert Caproni from the Stevens Invitational after he ran a 15:35.79 back in 2010.
"The men's and women's team were hungry to get back in the trail from their long hiatus and came back with smashing results, said
FDU cross country head coach John Cahill. "Our men's program battled a few injuries, but with all runners finishing it proved no doubt their resilience to the sport. Next week we plan to pick the tempo up in a more familiar course at Vassar College."
