Poughkeepsie, NY (September 11) – The FDU-Florham men's cross country team ran its second race of the year today at Vassar College's Ron Stonitsch Invitational. The Devils did not produce a team score as they did not have five runners compete, however two individuals crossed the line for FDU in today's meet.
The men's race was a 6k (3.73 mile) course and saw Matthew Lecky from RPI win the individual title.
Victor Sayde (Ridgefield, NJ) was the first to cross the line for FDU-Florham in 69th place in a time of 23:40.7, while
Dakota Carfello (Pequannock, NJ) finished second for the Devils and 86th overall in a time of 29:46.6.
"The men's race showed the strength of the course and how controlling one's pace is the key to running. Sadly, with injury the men did not finish as well as we would have liked, but this gives us a chance to work on miles and the endurance side of the 8k race," said
head coach John Cahill. "I am confident of a boost for the next meet."
FDU is off until September 26 when the Devils head to Mount Saint Mary's College for a 12:00 pm race.
