PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. (January 7, 2019) - Senior
Kayla Croswell poured in a career-best 25 points on 10-of-10 shooting from the field as the FDU-Florham women's basketball team cruised to an 81-59 win over Valley Forge Monday evening.
The Devils snapped a three-game losing skid and improved to 5-8 on the season, while the Patriots dropped to 3-6.
With the game tied at three, senior
Raven Dowling drained a three-pointer to kick-start a 14-2 spurt to break the game open early. Included during the run was FDU tallying 14 straight points, as Valley Forge missed eight shots during the run. The Patriots brought the lead down to 12 with 6:32 left in the second quarter, but the Devils closed the half out with 15 of the final 21 points to head into halftime with a 21 point lead.
Croswell led the team with 13 points, while Dowling chipped in 11 in the opening stanza. Freshman
Helen Ishmael chipped in four points and five boards while playing just nine minutes in the first two quarters.
A mini 5-0 spurt by the Devils extended the lead to 27 midway through the third. A layup by junior
Cayla Staggers started a quarter-ending 10-2 run, however the began the fourth with 13 of the first 15 points to whittle the lead down to 21. With 3:49 remaining in the contest, freshman
Arian Coleman knocked down a jumper which led to eight consecutive Devils points. Valley Forge connected on a triple with just 10 seconds left to establish the final margin.

- Croswell broke her previous career-high of 23, and missed her fourth double-double of the season by just one rebound.
- The Devils set season-highs in points (81). field goals made (35), and rebounds (57), while tying season-bests in three-pointers made (4) and blocked shots (4).
- Led by six from Staggers, the team grabbed a season-high 25 offensive rebounds. FDU held a commanding 57-29 edge on the glass.
- Dowling filled the stat-sheet with 13 points, five rebounds and five assists, while junior Jennah Roman had seven points, five boards and four assists.
