MADISON, N.J. (February 28, 2018) - The FDU women's lacrosse team rolled to a 17-4 victory over Drew in the season-opener Wednesday evening.
Drew dropped to 1-2 with the setback, while FDU won their season-opener for the second straight season.

Kathleen Petrucelli tallied the Devils first goal of the season, scoring just 2:30 into the contest. After Drew tied the game on a free-position attempt, graduate student
Noelle Shirey kick-started a Devils run that saw them score the next five times.

Caitlyn Damon and senior
Cassidy Vastano notched goals just 39 seconds apart. The rally was closed out by freshman
Hannah Bhend, who score her first career goal. Drew scored the next two, but junior
Caroline Pape and Vastano scored with under a minute remaining in the stanza to build the five goal halftime lead.
The hosts controlled the second half, scoring six times in the first seven minutes of the period.
Noelle Shirey and Damon each completed the hat trick during the beginning of the second half. Freshman
Olivia Chaoush recorded her first career goal with 10:38 left in the contest, while
Noelle Shirey capped the scoring just over two minutes later.
Noelle Shirey recorded five goals and an assist while adding six ground balls and five draw controls. Pape notched a goal and two helpers while leading the way with eight draw controls. Petrucelli and Damon combined for five goals and four assists while junior
Megan Nemeth made five saves in 43:14 of action.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, hosting Moravian at 1 p.m.
