Women's Soccer Looking for ECAC Championship

MADISON, N.J. (November 16, 2018) - The FDU-Florham women's soccer team heads to Maryland this weekend, looking the second ECAC Championship in program history.

LOCATION
The semifinals and finals will be held Saturday and Sunday at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.

TOURNAMENT INFO
The Devils will face host McDaniel at 11 a.m. Saturday before Wilkes and Albright square off in the other semifinal match at 2 p.m. The two winners will meet Sunday at noon to determine the ECAC Champion.

MCDANIEL REPORT
The Green Terror come in with a 12-5-1 record, including a 6-3-1 mark in the Centennial Conference. In the first two rounds of the ECAC Tournament, McDaniel did not give up a goal in wins over Brevard and Pfeiffer. Hannah Schepers leads the Green Terror with 14 goals.

YOU LOOK FAMILIAR
The Devils had both Albright and Wilkes on the schedule this season, but the Albright contest was canceled due to rain. FDU picked up a 2-1 victory over Wilkes on Senior Night, helping the Devils get into the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Championship.

FDU REVIEW
The Devils enter the game with a 14-6-2 record, and went 3-3-1 in the MAC Freedom. The 14 wins are one off of the program record, set during the 2010 season.

HOW WE GOT HERE?
FDU picked up a 4-2 win over Wesley in the First Round, before taking down Widener 1-0 in the Second Round of the tournament.

USING YOUR HEAD
Sophomore Tatiana Nieto scored the lone goal in the 1-0 win over Widener. Nieto first header went off the post, but the rebound caromed right back to her. She headed the rebound past the goalie for her third game-winner of the year.

RECORD SETTER
Sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Paulino recorded her 14th win of the season last Sunday, surpassing Melissa Braun's record of 13 set in 2006. In two years, she has recorded 22 victories, fourth most in school history.

SHUT IT DOWN
The back four of Carlie Mullins, Nicolette Roberts, Dari Lyons and Madison Rosa have held opponents to just 22 goals this season. The defensive unit has also surrendered just seven first half goals during the year.
