MADISON, N.J. (September 21, 2017) - The FDU women's soccer team had its two-game winning streak snapped in an 8-0 setback against No. 3 The College of New Jersey Thursday.
The Devils dropped to 5-2, while TCNJ moved to 6-0 on the season. The Lions extended their scoreless streak to 543:45, having not allowed a goal all season.
TCNJ scored twice in the opening 12:33, but the Devils kept the Lions off the board for the 30 minutes after. Freshman goalkeeper
Kassidy Germann made five saves in the opening half, as the visitors held an 18-1 edge in shots in the first period.
After TCNJ scored 3:43 left in the first half, the visitors would tally five additional markers in the second 45 minutes. Freshmen
Nathalia Gallo and
Amanda Croce each had shots sail wide, and senior
Kristina Ragolia had an attempt saved by the keeper in the 87th minute.
Gallo had a team-best two shot attempts, while Germann made eight saves. Jessica Goldman had a pair of goals for the Lions in the win.
The Devils are back in action Saturday, taking on Brooklyn College at 12 p.m.
