MADISON, N.J. (April 18, 2017) - Senior
John Armstrong tossed seven innings but the FDU baseball team fell to TCNJ 7-5 Tuesday.
The Devils fall to 10-13 while TCNJ improves to 21-6.
After a scoreless two frames, both sides scored in the third, fourth and fifth innings. For FDU, junior

Ben Thompson lofted a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
The Devils also scored two in the fifth, cutting the gap to 5-4. With the bases loaded, Thompson and junior Joseph Bonaccurso each recorded walks to score runs. The score remained 5-4 until the ninth when TCNJ scored a pair of one-out runs.
Senior
Diego Espinosa roped a one-out single to left, and pinch runner
David Wilbur moved to third on a wild pitch and single by
Dylan DiPolvere. Thompson came up with men on the corners and singled through the left side, making the score 7-5. That was as close as FDU would get, as the next hitters were set down in order.
DiPolvere was 3-for-4 while Diaz and Espinosa each collected two hits.
FDU will be back in action tomorrow, taking on Drew at Dodge Field in Madison for a special 6 p.m. first pitch.
